Rico Reiko Nagase is a Japanese artist with a lover’s awareness of this land of wood and water. Her Sojourn in Jamaica, which was originally inspired by a curiosity about the Island’s indigenous music, has been nothing short of inspirational.

Her paintings are an extension of her love and affinity for the culture and people of Jamaica.

She embraces children portraits as these represent innocence and an appreciation of the simple things.

岐阜県立加納高校美術科でアートを学ぶ。日本画専攻。
愛知淑徳大学卒業。

１９８９年　ジャマイカに渡る。以来、キングストン在住。
キングストンにある EDNA MANLEY SCHOOL OF VISUAL ART
（現EDNA MANLEY COLLEGE）のEVENING COURSEに２年間通う。

1992~2010 レゲエ雑誌「 RIDDIM」 ISLAND EXPRESS執筆とイラスト連載。
